Pop!

I saw Target had a sale on $1.99 Rice Krispies. Down the way I saw $1.67 Marshmallows. So I went home and made these:

Something smells...fishy.

I bought this stuff at Target:To make this stuff:

I'll go a long way for a joke, I guess. I think kids should eat more fish! Er. Maybe not so much candy and cookies. So here's a REAL recipe for fish...

Claw claw

Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been tied up with extreme baby shower activities.

In the middle of it all, I did get to go to Target for a few quick runs, and I found this Baby this shirt for $6. He loves Wolverine and the bright colors and stripes are pretty awesome.I don't normally applaud Marvel for being such a sellout, but if I get a $6 shirt out of it, who am I to complain. It doesn't mean I'm going to eat a Wolverine pizza....

Thank you Easter bunny.

Since I got laid off, Easter wasn't that...great. Not that it's usually spectacular, but I certainly didn't go out and make the kids big 'ol Easter baskets like I might have in the past. The kids didn't care, but I felt bad.

I happened to be strolling down the aisles of Target when I was surprised to see that there was still a small aisle of Easter stuff for sale - all at 75% off. I figured only junk would be left -- and I was kind of right.

Though I resisted the Batman Easter basket, I did pick these up:
Yo Gabba Gabba Easter cars for the Kid at $3.49 and Schleich animals for the Baby at just $1.99. Not a bad deal.

When O.G. hid the Easter eggs for the kids...she didn't fill them. So the kids would open them to disappointment. UGH. I just told the kids that I guess the Easter Bunny is feeling the recession too.

Full of it.

The Baby has, um. A problem. And he needs...a release. Yeah.

Hello Kitty Stuff!

I've been spending too much time in stores waiting to pick up my girls. This is what I found in the $1 bin section....Hello Kitty banks. They weren't a $1, they were $2.50. There was magnets, Hello Kitty socks (too small for my girls), Hello Kitty frames & etc!

shopping spree

I did not spend $200 at Target. Nope. I spent $194. And I knew I was going to - in fact, I planned for it. I saved up over a few months in anticipation of this event. Sadly nothing 'fun' was bought. It was all necessities. All of it. Not one lone bag of m&ms or an unnecessary scarf in the lot.

My list (which I stuck to) was mostly new clothing items for the boys. They are growing faster than I can catch up, and needed new pants, shirts, socks, new everything. Target has cheap clothes which is good, because they kids go through them pretty quickly. But when you buy several items times two - cheap adds up.

I also got rid of all their old underwear and now they have brand spankin' new ones.

Other things on the list, garbage bags, napkins, cleaners, soap, benadryl, you know - boring boring boring. But the most important thing, 3 giant packs of wipes. There is a whole lotta poo in this house and never like to run out of these. I keep them stocked in all the cabinets and always buy in bulk when they go on sale.So that's how I spent my boring $200. It's sad really. No rush. No fun stuff. But I have wipes and undies for days...
