shopping spree

I did not spend $200 at Target. Nope. I spent $194. And I knew I was going to - in fact, I planned for it. I saved up over a few months in anticipation of this event. Sadly nothing 'fun' was bought. It was all necessities. All of it. Not one lone bag of m&ms or an unnecessary scarf in the lot.

My list (which I stuck to) was mostly new clothing items for the boys. They are growing faster than I can catch up, and needed new pants, shirts, socks, new everything. Target has cheap clothes which is good, because they kids go through them pretty quickly. But when you buy several items times two - cheap adds up.

I also got rid of all their old underwear and now they have brand spankin' new ones.

Other things on the list, garbage bags, napkins, cleaners, soap, benadryl, you know - boring boring boring. But the most important thing, 3 giant packs of wipes. There is a whole lotta poo in this house and never like to run out of these. I keep them stocked in all the cabinets and always buy in bulk when they go on sale.So that's how I spent my boring $200. It's sad really. No rush. No fun stuff. But I have wipes and undies for days...

Twisted sister

Valentine's Day is here and I decided NOT to make cupcakes. Shocker. I felt like doing something different instead.

My kids aren't allowed to eat chips, and as we were going down the snack aisle the Baby was all about pretzels. How could you miss them they are in a bag twice the size of your head. There are just too many to eat, so I used the leftover chocolate from some cookies I made yesterday and dipped the pretzels. SO GOOD. Then again, anything dipped in chocolate is good. There were so many cute things in the holiday aisle that I did NOT need - so I'm waiting for the after Valentine's Day sale. Who doesn't need pink year 'round?? I did spy these little treat boxes for only $1.99, which I figured would hold my pretzels perfectly - and they did. They even came with cupcake inserts. Hm. Maybe I will make cupcakes after all...

It's a trap!

I sold a bunch of Tokidoki and Kate Spade bags on ebay. I just needed a few mailing boxes and that's it.

I swear.

But Target - we all know it. It's A TRAP. And $50 later (thankfully that was it) I was outta there. What ended up in my cart? Well I had seen these Real Simple organizers for some time and thought, 'What a waste, I can make this'. However, like everyone, I am lacking on time - so making it - not gonna happen. And as insanely organized as I am, I kept going back and looking at them. Finally, I succumbed. I bought this one:Wow is it perfect! Room for papers, room for pens, room for...whatever! Now I want to go back and buy more and more until I have a completely perfect organized desk. Man. All I needed was some mailing boxes.

Dwell on it

Fisher-Price took Target's partnership with DwellStudio to another level with its latest line of baby gear, including a swing, bouncer chair and high chair.

And as a new mom, I can tell ya that this stuff is suuuuuper cute. So cute, in fact, that I cursed them for waiting until my baby girl was 4 months old to come out with it.

We already have a swing, and our girl is too old for a bouncy chair.

Dang it!

But we hadn't opened the high chair we got from Babies R Us as a shower gift, so I took that bad boy back today and ordered the FP DwellStudio chair instead, which happened to be on sale.

Only Target could make me giddy over a high chair.
