I happened to be strolling down the aisles of Target when I was surprised to see that there was still a small aisle of Easter stuff for sale - all at 75% off. I figured only junk would be left -- and I was kind of right.
Though I resisted the Batman Easter basket, I did pick these up:
Yo Gabba Gabba Easter cars for the Kid at $3.49 and Schleich animals for the Baby at just $1.99. Not a bad deal. When O.G. hid the Easter eggs for the kids...she didn't fill them. So the kids would open them to disappointment. UGH. I just told the kids that I guess the Easter Bunny is feeling the recession too.

When I left for my parents house I completely forgot all the Easter stuff.
Luckily my Dad had school Friday morning, because I hit Walmart (target was 15-20 minutes away, Walmart 2)and found just enough for the small baskets that I bought at Michael's.
I even cheated and bought pre-filled eggs. They had fairies and girlie insects. We had plastic eggs but it was cheaper to buy the pre-filled ones than to buy more candy.
