Pop goes my heart.

So the Kid totally DID go as Indiana Jones for Halloween and I was so stupid I didn't even take my own advice and buy that man-purse for him, because it was sold out for weeks. So sad, but at least he got the musical whip. That song will NOT get out of my head...

Then I go to Target yesterday and what do I see? Indiana Jones Dr. Pepper? What, what! That whole promo thing with that movie is weird. Coconut M&Ms or whatever the heck weird tie in was, now this? Makes no sense if you ask me. That didn't stop me from buying it. I am thinking of going back and getting a case for the Kid's Indiana Jones themed bday party coming up. Too bad my kids don't drink soda. Pointless, but on theme.

Hello Kitty @ $1 Bin!!

Hubby & I hit Target for some "Santa" shopping. Didn't get anything from Santa yet (going to wait till they write their wish lists. Did score on some stocking stuffers. The girls LOVE Hello Kitty. Got magnets (our fridge is covered with them), light up stampers, paint-by-numbers, socks (no adult size ones) and a backpack clip!

Trick or Treat

Every year I like to make little treat bags for the kid's school friends, but I don't like to put candy since they'll all be getting plenty of that. Plus the poor Kid and his chocolate allergy, he never gets anything.

I found this giant box of Spongebob fruit chews, 30 bags for $5.99. I don't like my kids watching Spongebob, but they can spot a character when they see it. The over in the Halloween section they had tons of bags of toys, small probably-made-in-China-and-I'm-sure-the-lead-will-kill-you toys, 30 in a bag for just $3.99 AND stupid me missed the two for $5 sale. Oh well. Still a deal. I picked up some mini Chinese yo-yos and tiny mazes.

Total cost per bag, less than 50 cents. Not bad. I put one of each item in a plastic bag and tied it off with a ribbon and a Halloweenie gift tag. Wait. Let's get this straight, I didn't do anything, I got my in house child labor to stuff the bags, the Kid did 28 while the Baby did 2. Lay to the z. Still, I highly suggest hiring some child labor. They work for juice and cookies and really get the job done.

Hamster Gift Card!

If you know me at all, you know I have a thing for hamsters. So, imagine my delight when I spotted this in Target recently:

DSC09205

It's one of those lenticular gift cards that is animated if you move it back and forth. The hamster runs on the wheel...too cute! I put $5 on the card, which is the minimum you can. I'll spend it, along with the one I got for my birthday, and then just keep the card.
