In Case You Wondered Like Me

I managed to score a Wii (being returned) on the Day After Christmas at Target (I snatched it from the Security guy that was going to walk it back to Electronics). Now my husband and I saw the Wii Starter Kit $49.99 in Sunday's flyer. I'm sure you couldn't figure out what was in the Starter Kit either. I looked at it on Sunday and it contains:

- 2 rechargable battery packs with the connection to charge it through your Wii (The packs are pictured but NOT the connection part, I didn't want to take it off the Wii console.)
- 2 skins
- 2 straps
- wireless sensor bar
- cables (to make the picture look better, we don't have a green spot on our tv)
- steering wheel case
- baseball bat attachment
- golf club attachment
- tennis racket attachment

Hello Kitty & Cupcakes

I was at Target to finish off my gift card that I got for Christmas. Here are some of my finds:
I guess these were some sort of Christmas item because they were marked 75% off. There were $1.49 each!! I got 3 but my oldest daughter got dibs on the 3rd set. These will make great birthday gifts. Once they go to school they seem to get invited to everyone's birthday party.

Sorry for the picture of the washing machine. I had removed all the tags & hangers before I got to join this blog. Christmas sleep pants 75% off (2 for $3.74)!

I couldn't resist this cupcake cookie jar! It was $14 Ingore the alcohol in the background. Really we don't drink much.

Cupcake placemats $1.99 each! My oldest loves pink. I just like the cupcakes. If I wait till after Valentine's Day all the placemats are gone. We have lots of Christmas and Halloween placemats so I thought I would add some other holiday ones. The girls LOVE them!

I live in a small town with only 1 Target so if you see something you like, grab it because it won't be there the next day.

Baby love

The reason I haven't posted here in forever is because I avoided Target -- and most brick-and-mortar stores -- as much as possible during the holiday shopping season. I finally caved in yesterday and braved the red and white store that we all know and love.

My goodies? These baby gifts for some friends of ours who just had a baby boy.

Baby gifts from Target

Those funny onesies were only $2.50 each! The hats were $1 each (in the dollar section at the front of the store) and I scored those little socks for only 25 cents!

Along with some Christmas candy (mmm...candy cane Hershey's Kisses...) I happened upon these kitchen towels in the home department's Valentine merchandise.

To sweeten up my kitchen

I, like Jenn, first scoffed at the Valentine's stuff. "Already?!?!?!" But I love me some cupcakes, so I had to scoop them up. Only $3.99.

Getting Organized. And watching TV

So,my house is a shithole and yesterday I saw that these bins were on sale for $5.88 each at Target. I got 8 of them. Now, we will still be swimming in crap, but it will all be in bins.

And this was only $19; how could I NOT buy it?

Christmas Stockings

I too, hit Target on 12/26 (although NOT at 7am). I scored a few things, including these precious little stocking ornaments.
They are just the right size to tie to the top of Christmas gifts (next year).

bag it

Why would anyone in their right mind head down to Target at 6:55am the day after Christmas? Cause it's worth it, dammit!

Sure there are lots of packaging and wrap, but what I go for is the everyday stuff. If it even has an inkling of 'holiday' on it, snowflakes, santa, red+green, etc, they mark it down 50%. That's when I swoop in for the deal. I've gotten napkins, bowls, spatulas, cake pans (just the wrapping had xmas stuff - the pan itself was normal.)

Today I got a great deal, a three pack combo: freezer bags, storage bags and cling wrap. Marked down to $2.49!! And, a two bag of large Palmolive dish soap, again, $2.49. On the aisle right next to the holiday stuff, the same thing for just one dish soap was $3.49. So there you go.

Just a few essentials

Kitty litter, a new bucket for brining, fancy tablecloth and napkins and a wide-barrel curling iron. You know, just everyday stuff.

Friday, I'm in love

I went to Target today and saw VALENTINE'S DAY things out. Geez. Can I get through Christmas first, Target, huh? Can I??

Rock the boat

You already know of my love for melamine plates. Well, I was walking down the aisles when I saw this cute little blue boat in the housewares section. It was with some 'asian' themed plates so it must be some sort of homage to the traditional sushi plate. I think the small section in the back is probably for soy sauce and wasabi. Clearly, I am not using it for that.

I bought this right away, but here's the kicker, there was only one. OH the fights this causes when you have two boys. I have looked high and low and they no longer carry these little boats. We rarely use this because the kids just argue over who gets it, it's sad. Still, cutest thing I've found to date.
*I bought this almost 9 months ago, so I'm sure they are long gone. ~sigh~

Are those real?

I broke down and finally got a fake tree. I felt bad about all those dead Christmas trees cut down for no good reason that just end up on the curb every January. While I love the smell of fresh pine, I feel like this is the future.

I looked everywhere. Joann's trees looked like crap. Stats were gorgeous and cost upwards of $400. Target, my saviour as always.

Read more about my new tree, HERE.

Crappy canes

Not everything bought at Target is wonderful. Remember in the old days when mini candy canes were perfectly shaped, with the hook and the stem just the right slender proportion? Well I went to Target to find such canes for my holiday cupcakes, and they only had this box:

Sure it was only $1.99, so why complain, but look at how stumpy they are! Fat. Short. Just not attractive. They are tasty though, I'll give them that. But not pretty when put in my holiday cupcakes. NOT. HAPPY.

Blow out

I have been compiling gift lists this past week. Gifts for Foodies. Gifts for Kids. Gifts for Men. And in the Gifts for Women category, I put something near and dear to me. My hairdryer. In the hairdryer section of Target they have a wall of dryers. Ranging from the cheap ($9.99) to the pricey ($70). I found myself somewhere near they cheap middle. I saw this one, and although cheap might equal crap, I decided to give it a go. Man was I happily surprised. This is quite possibly the best dryer I have ever bought and I don't know why. Is it the ions? What the hell are ions? Who knows, but everyday since I have used this I have not had one bad hair day. No joke!

I even wear a hard hat a few hours a day, and when I take it off? Still super fabulous hair. Don't ask me how or why but I love this cheapass hairdryer.

Sugar cane

At Target I saw these cute Disney flavored candy canes for $1.99. It gave me an idea for holiday treats for the kid's school friends. Since my kids and I go to Disneyland almost every week, (having an annual pass will do that to you) while I was there I bought these tiny bags of pretzels at 79 cents + my 20% off. Not a bad deal.

I paired it with the Disney candy canes, and my holiday jingle tags. It made a cute, cheap, quick gift!

Needy tree

Will and I always choose an ornament off the needy tree at the Lockport library, and this year we got a 13 year-old girl who wants a CD player and batteries, and an 11 year-old girl who wants warm holiday socks.
